Whakamana is a members-only club. Every person on that dance floor has been approved, registered, and has a parent or guardian who has signed our consent agreement. We know who is here — and that makes all the difference.

From Hip-Hop Night to Cowboy Night to 80s Throwback — every Friday and Saturday is a different vibe. Themed nights, DJ sets, and a community of teens who actually know each other. This is not a random crowd. This is your crew.
REAL MUSIC
We play the music you actually listen to. Hip-hop, pop, throwbacks, country, rock — our DJs read the crowd and keep the energy high all night long. Members vote on themes. Your voice shapes the night.

Whakamana Dance Club is a members-only teen dance club in Cumberland, Maryland — built for teens ages 13 to 18 who want a real place to connect, move, and have a great time in a safe and structured environment. We are not a drop-in venue. Every member is known, every parent is informed, and every night is intentional. If you want to be part of something real in Cumberland, this is it.

HOW TO JOIN
MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED BEFORE YOU STEP ON THE FLOOR
Whakamana is a members-only club. Before your first visit, every teen must complete the three-step membership process. It is free to apply and takes about ten minutes online. Once approved, you are in — and the dance floor is yours every Friday and Saturday night.

Fill out the Get to Know You & Membership Application online. Tell us a little about yourself. All applicants ages 13–18 in Cumberland are welcome to apply.
Parent Signs the Waiver
A parent or legal guardian must complete the Parental Consent, Release of Liability, and Indemnification Agreement online before your first visit. No exceptions.
Read & Agree to the Code of Conduct
Every member must acknowledge and follow the Whakamana Dance Floor Code of Conduct. Respect the space, respect each other, and keep the energy positive.

Members get access to themed dance nights every Friday and Saturday. We rotate the theme weekly — check the schedule and come dressed for it. Best outfit of the night wins a free guest pass for a friend.
Hip Hop Night
The original Whakamana night. Freestyle, cyphers, and the hardest beats in Cumberland. This is where it all started.
80s & 90s THROWBACK
Neon everything. Big hair optional. We bring back the greatest decades in music and let the floor decide which era wins.
COWBOY NIGHT
Line dancing, square dance basics, and country bangers. Boots and flannel encouraged. One of our most popular themed nights.
