Mana aligns closely with the concept of teens’ rights, including the right to have their health and well-being protected and nurtured; to have equitable access to learning activities; to have their language, culture, and identity affirmed and respected; and to have agency in decisions that concern them.
Teens feel more empowered, respected, and trusted when they can pursue their interests, help make decisions about their care and learning, explore learning through dance, experience positive social acceptance, and participate in meaningful, enjoyable, age-appropriate activities that extend their learning.
